Nick Knight: Skinhead
I am currently working on a project on the sunculture of the skinhead. I am collecting old and new images of the real skinheads and the clothes and attitude that goes hand in hand.
Nick Knights book is an inspiration yet I want to take the route of what the skinheads looked like then and now, and from this I will recreate a styled constructed scene to represent my findings. Fingers crossed I can do this as its a lot of work.

Things needed for the final shoot.
Street Fashion/Scouting outside the warehouse and Around Uni.
Example of the cut-outs done by Adam for the final shoot.
Due to bad weather we couldn't photograph people on the street so we scouted around the university campus
Myself and Marie went to the Warehouse nightclub and photographed people outside so to get get the bodies we needed to project on to the models.
We also as a full group attempted to photograph during the day in the town centre. Though due to the Preston rain we had to resort to photographing inside within the university campus.
My Favourite Quotes.
"Fashion Fades, only style remains."
Coco Chanel
"Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still."
Dorothea Lange
"Look, I'm not an intellectual - I just take picture."
Helmet Newton
Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Polaroid.
Tailors Dummy.
A friend got me a tailors dummy today from a house clearance and as we have been discussing what is your style I am going to take photographs of what i wear on the taylors dummy.
I will be photographing these items with my iphone using the polarize app and tagged them with the day i wore the outfit.

Fashion Assignment Ideas.
Our assignment has come from the street fashion in Preston.
Since looking at the satorialist and working at WGSN I really like the idea of incorporating people and their style into a project.
Maries added to this with an idea from a french magazine called Milk. Where a projector was used.
From this we have had a meeting to go through how this could be done and what time we had free to meet up etc.
I found this article and emailed it to our group as using a projector and photographing it is called dual photography.

Breathless: À bout de souffle.
I first saw this film when I was babysitting as a teenager and loved it then and still do now.
Here are my thoughts in note style about the film.
The film can be paused and look like a still.
Jean Sebergs character has amazing style, she lokks classic yet edgy.
The striped top and pleated skirt has been seen in trend since.
I can see how the influence of this film may have influenced Cindy Shermans Film stills especially in the bathroom scenes with patricia.
Stlish and sexy.
They have a very laid back attitude considering the narrative.
I love the shot of patricia on the escalator you can immediately see a photographic still.
Their relationship seems to me as though she is stronger than him and he wants her more than she wants him.

My Idea of Beauty: The Model.
Whats in Store: WGSN.
One of the brief that WGSN gave me was to photograph for the What's in Store section.
I was designated the area of Covent Garden.
For each shop window I photographed I had to deflect the light with black card. And to log the shop I had to photograph the sign for each shop.
It was really interesting getting ideas from visual merchandising point of view. This gave me ideas that I could relate to styling.
My favourite shop window was Apple Tree as it was bright and eclectic. And the clothes were amazing with a vintage style to them.
